It’s holiday time and to me that means cocktails. I stared at the liquor cabinet – well, in my case, liquor shelves – and picked a spirit I hadn’t used in a while – Domaine de Canton.
Domaine de Canton is a ginger liqueur made by hand with Vietnamese baby ginger in small batches – according to the website :-). The very pretty bottle also comes with a bunch of recipe ideas, and I stole one that sounded tasty. This one is usually made with bourbon and honey reminding me a little of a whiskey sour.
The Gold Rush
- 1 1/2 oz Domaine de Canton
- 1 oz Angel’s Envy – or any bourbon of your choice
- 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
Pour everything into a shaker, added ice and shake for about a minute.
Strain into a coupe glass.
Because it reminded me of a whiskey sour, I garnished with a Luxardo cherry.
I don’t love whiskey, so this isn’t my favorite cocktail. I liked it and would definitely order it in a whiskey bar.
