I am a fan of sparkles and a fan of Willamette Valley wines. Having randomly met one of the Arglye guys on the plan to Oregon, we had to check out the bubbles.
This Blanc de Blancs from 2012 is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes. 2012 was a very dry year for the valley. These guys held strong though and left their grapes on the vine until October. Dry years tend to make for ripe fruit and this year is no exception.
This wine has the complexity of a butter chardonnay, but it is crisp with acidity.
I like to drink my bubbles out of a coupe so I can smell all the smells as I taste.
