This post is a long over due companion post. I love this place. I am lucky; it is close to home. Lane Harlan is opening my eyes to all the Mezcals. In fact, there is usually a new on (or 5) on the shelf each time I go. Adam and Dre are my favorites, although most of the bartenders are knowledgeable about the Mezcal and it’s culture. If you haven’t been – get here and go during happy hour. $6 Mezcalitas and $6 queso fundido – melty melty cheese with chorizo (or not, if you prefer) and a side of guac and refried beans. Plus, tons of house made chips.
They also make a great ceviche, one with Mahi and two with shrimp. I don’t love shrimp, so I tend to lean towards the tacos. The tacos are good – try all the fillings. And all the dipping sauces, for that matter. The tacos always disappear before I can take the picture. The food is truly authentic Mexican – simple, quality ingredients and flavors.
