Artifact is a charming coffee shop in Meadow Mill. There is a decent amount of seating, free wifi for customers, and a fantastic menu. Please folks, there is no need for Starbucks when you have these kinds of local places around.
This is my favorite spot when its rainy and kinda cold. There is a rustic cabin like feel; the only thing missing is the fire place – but the kitchen kinda counts. I happened to stop in on an unseasonably warm day so I started with the iced coffee. They use counter culture coffee and a Japanese cold brew method – essentially a pour over of strong hot coffee into ice – creating a bright flavored coffee. so. so. tasty.
For breakfasty brunch like foods, I have a hard time passing up an egg sandwich. A house english style muffin griddled, topped with sharp cheddar and if you like – sausage – probably made at their butcher shop. They are doing some fantastic things with meat – yumm. Putting the muffin on the griddle add a nice warm crunch, but also a little oily on your fingers. The egg was perfect to my liking – not completely cooked yolk, but it didn’t explode in my hand or on the plate.
