After a long day of football watching and some drinks, we stumbled into Pub Dog Pizza and Drafthouse in Federal Hill. Believe me, we needed all of the food. This might be the best way to end a night.
We started with Big Dog Salad – a bunch of romaine topped with grilled chicken and smoked Gouda. They serve it with a ton of veggies tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and red peppers and drizzle a gorgonzola vinaigrette. Yum. It also comes out from the kitchen quickly, so you have time to wait for the pizza.
My friend has been talking about the Mr. Green Jeans Pizza since we were at Cunninghams. This is a thinner crust pizza, but it has great crunch on the outside, but still soft, light and a little fluffy on the inside. My favorite part of this pizza is that it has olive oil instead of red sauce. Pub dog tops the pizza with fresh mozzarella, garlic, mushrooms, Kalamata Olives and a little Feta (don’t you worry – I got my half without the olives). I think they wait until the pizza is done cooking to top it with spinach, fresh cherry tomato halves and a basil chiffonade.
This looks great!
