Have you heard of this place? I promise I don’t only eat in Hampden. Nevertheless, I do live nearby and enjoy the quirkiness.
I was out walking this beautiful weekend with a friend of mine. She and I had plans to meet another friend in Hampden later that afternoon. We were hungry and decided to grab lunch on the Avenue at one of the many little cafe style places.
After checking out all the menus and narrowing down based on our gut’s desire – we headed into Luigi’s. I am not gonna lie: the lady walking out saying, “that bread is to die for”, might have had something to do with it.
I had the Cara Bella Panini with prosciutto, teleggio, and arugula. My friend had the Gabriella because she basically orders anything that has pesto. Both sandwiches came on a warmed/grilled roll. My sammie was so good. I ate every bite. In fact, I was too hungry and it was so good, that I didn’t even remember to take a picture. The stranger on the street did not leave anything out – that bread was amazing.
I was jealous, however, of the three other people in the joint who had ordered the meatball sub, which is basically a sandwich the size of Alaska, with large meatballs smothered in sauce and cheese.
